May is already shaping up to be a busy month for the Cuban Art Song Project. We are looking forward to our performance on Governors Island May 24th and hope that many of you in town will be able to join us for the first full band performance. Our May blog post features highlights on the release of the single Habanera tú, a sneak peek of our next single, and information on the Triennial. Enjoy!

Cuban Art Song Project's debut single, Habanera Tú goes international!

We are overwhelmed by the scope of listeners for our debut single. Thank you to everyone who has played, shared, and saved Habanera tú!
We are overwhelmed by the scope of listeners for our debut single. Thank you to everyone who has played, shared, and saved Habanera tú!

As of May 12th we have had 1,986 listeners and 2,501 streams of Habanera Tú on Spotify!!! I was hopeful that you all would enjoy Tú as much as I did, but you never truly know how your music will be received until it's released. One of the ways CASP has been able to view its listener reach is a service provided by Spotify called "Spotify for Artists". Spotify for Artists is a valuable tool that provides artists with detailed analytics on how their songs are performing on Spotify. It offers daily stream counts, allowing artists to track the popularity of their music over time. The platform also displays the number of unique streamers, giving insight into how many individual listeners are engaging with the songs. Additionally, it highlights the top playlists where the song has been featured, helping artists understand where their music is gaining traction. One of my favorite features breaks down geographic data by showing the countries where the song is being streamed, illustrating our international reach!

This data is only available to me but I thought you who read my newsletter would find it interesting. Keep in mind this data changes every day!

For the past two weeks Mexico and the US have been duking it out for top spot. While the US was leading for quite some time, last week Mexico really started ramping up and is currently in first place!

If you don't use Spotify as your primary listening platform, fret not! The Cuban Art Song Project's music can be found on all of your favorite listening platforms including Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, Pandora, and Youtube music. Visit our home page and scroll to the footer to click on your listening platform of choice to stream Habanera tú now!

The Cuban Art Song Project's Second Single, Coming Friday May 30th!

Album Cover Reveal: Dos gardenias
Album Cover Reveal: Dos gardenias

Dos gardenias, a beloved Cuban bolero, has been reimagined by the Cuban Art Song Project as a tango. Sharp rhythms from the güiro and pizzicato bass contrast sultry vocals and lilting piano to evoke a steamy relationship on the rocks. Out Friday May 30th, available on all streaming platforms!

Finally we want to remind our subscribers of the Cuban Art Song Project's next performance coming up in a couple weeks. We are thrilled to be kicking off the New York Latin American Art Triennial's 2025 season. It's an honor to work with this organization and this performance will be truly special. If you don't have plans Memorial Day Saturday and are near NYC we would love to see you. This performance takes place on Governors Island, a unique 172 acre car free island located just a few minutes from Manhattan and Brooklyn via ferry. Those who have RSVP'd have received an information packet, but I am also attaching it below.

Thank you all for your continued support! Until next month!

Abrazos,

Isabella

We are thrilled to finally announce the Cuban Art Song Project's partnering with Lexicon Classics! A division of Emitha Records, Lexicon combines a dedication to artistic integrity with cutting edge distribution techniques for the digital age. We were blown away by Lexicon's enthusiasm for our mission and know that Lexicon will help bring this music to a wider audience.

Coming April 25th: Cuban Art Song Project's first single, "Habanera tú"
Coming April 25th: Cuban Art Song Project's first single, "Habanera tú"

Habanera tú is one of the most famous Cuban songs and a love letter to the beauty of Cuba. The track begins with an effect meant to evoke an aged vinyl record. As the song progresses you are taken on a nostalgic trip to Old Havana, with palm trees and sun, reflected in the eyes of a lover.

Lexicon will be distributing our 3 upcoming singles and full album. There will be lots of exciting updates, behind the scenes footage from our recording at Big Orange Sheep and more! Make sure to help spread the word by mentioning the Cuban Art Song Project's website to friends and family, and subscribing to the newsletter.
